We are so proud to announce to the state School Social Workers the 2019 School Social Worker of the Year,  Molly Cirillo.  I was able to spend some time getting to know  Molly at the Midwest Conference in Wichita. There is no doubt that she is an amazing leader in her district.

Molly works as a school social worker at Hastings High School and is employed by Hastings Public Schools.  She is described by her peers as an outstanding Social Worker and Servant Leader because of her passion, positivity, caring and ability to empower those with whom she works. She goes above and beyond by treating students like family. Recognizing the importance of a holistic solutions focused approach, she serves students, families and the community by offering a safe environment for students to thrive, provides inspiration, and engagement. She connects with families and demonstrates leadership in the community by serving on the Board of Directors of Friends in Need Food Shelf, volunteers with the United Way and also mentors students. Furthermore she incorporates animal assisted therapeutic interventions as a means to support children and youth in need through a program called Pet Partners. Molly’s colleagues explained how her commitment to helping and advocating for others is exhibited in her ambition and desire to strive to achieve the best outcomes and to be a true agent of change.

Thank you Molly for all of your work, advocacy and being a leader for your colleagues.
