Midwest School Social Work Council Conference

The Midwest School Social Work Council is a coalition of eleven Midwestern state associations (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, and Wisconsin) for school social workers. Each state association rotates hosting the Midwest School Social Work Conference in their state during the fall. The Council consists of the eleven state presidents, their respective state consultants (if one exists), and a state school social work practitioner.

The purpose of the Council is to:

1. Actively support member state organizations;
2. Create and sustain a system of communication between member states and national school social work organizations; and
3. Support the professional development of school social workers.

The School Social Work Association of America (SSWAA) was founded in 1994. SSWAA is the only national organization solely dedicated to advancing the profession of School Social Work. The mission of SSWAA is dedicated to promoting the profession of school social work and the professional development of school social workers in order to enhance the educational experience of students and their families.
