School Social Workers prioritize essential responsibilities such as advocating for students' social-emotional well-being and building strong partnerships between home, school, and community. School Social Workers need tools to understand outside mental health resources available including higher levels of mental health support, to provide psycho education and opportunities to families in ethical ways, and to support students who are returning from outside mental health services.
Goals of Training (1 CEU)
Strengthen understanding of the levels and types of mental health care available to children and adolescents.
Gain strategies for making stronger connections for families to external services.
Increase ability to support transitions back into the school environment.
