Session Title:

Supporting Educator Well-Being

Presenter:

- Mandy Weinkauf, MSW, LICSW, LSSW

Learning Objectives:

Supporting Educator Well-Being is a critical component to supporting student success. When adults are able to be aware of their brains and bodies, their regulation, and their ability to support students through co-regulation, school systems can support healing. Grounded in research and science, this presentation supports an evidenced-based paradigm shift that will support all humans involved in our school systems.

Objectives:

1. Participants will increase their awareness of the impacts of toxic stress and trauma on how educators show up each day.

2. Participants will explore brain and autonomic nervous system basics and the impacts of secondary and vicarious trauma on educators.

3. Participants will understand how a paradigm shift to trauma stewardship, with support from trauma-responsive workplace structures, can support educator well-being.
