“The School Social Worker in Record Keeping, FERPA, and HIPAA”

This will be a hands-on learning session where participants will be divided into small groups to read and discuss legislation and standards that impacts documentation of school social work services.
Learning objectives include:
Examine state laws that impact documentation of school social work services
MN Board of Education
MN Board of Social Work
Examine federal regulations that impact documentation of school social work services
FERPA
HIPAA
Examine school social work standards and potential ethical issues
NASW School Social Work Standards
Midwest Council Supplemental Standards
Analyze the resulting information for documentation of school social work services and create a tool to utilize in practice.
DATE: Friday, April 30, 2021
TIME: From 1:00 pm-3:00 pm
CEUS will be emailed to those who register and attend (virtually)! There will be prizes!
