She will also offer effective strategies for building and maintaining well-being. Enjoy listening as you grow STRONGER TOGETHER! You’ll laugh, you’ll cry... but most important you will walk away with tools you can use for a lifetime of healthy!
Tuesday Keynote Presentation: "The Year in Review: What Every School Social Worker Needs to Know About Recent Court Decisions"
Laura Tubbs Booth, B.S.
In this session we will begin with a review of the rules regarding the sharing of student information throughout Minnesota and the 8th District Court Circuit. We will discuss student privacy, data collection and discuss the law regarding these important components of school social work. Finally, we will take our knowledge and apply it by working through a hypothetical situation taken from a recent case to apply our learning. Through this session, our legal expert will highlight the delicate balance school social workers must maintain between confidentiality and legal responsibilities, stressing the importance of following protocols and seeking legal counsel when in doubt.
